Occupational Mental Health - The recent
focus on ergonomics in the workplace has covered many physical
aspects of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) from their causes,
affected areas, incidence rates and control measures. Ergonomics
does not start or stop there. For a worker to be happy, healthy
and productive, more than just physical disorders must be
addressed.
I can assist your company in improving its organizational
mental health through:
- Cognitive Behavioral
Coaching (evidence-based therapy) - Based on an
underlying theoretical rationale, an individuals
mood and behavior is largely determined by the way he
or she structures the world. Highly positive outcomes
can be achieved for both employees and employer, within
a limited time period, depending on the severity of the
condition. Cognitive techniques are aimed at identifying
and challenging an individuals specific and learned
irrational assumptions. The approach is designed to teach
how an individual can recognize connections between cognition,
affect and behavior then to substitute
more realityorientated interpretations for their
biased thoughts.
-
Cognitive Mentoring
(conflict resolution) -Conflict
can result from a perceived incompatibility of behaviors,
objectives, ideas or beliefs. Within any workforce,
there will be members of staff or management who, from
time to time, will feel the need to express strong emotions,
but have difficulties expressing them clearly. Dispute
resolution, using cognitive techniques, has proved a
powerful tool in the management of interpersonal disputes.
I can offer conflict resolution services, utilizing
techniques which are similar to those used in Cognitive
Behavioral Therapy (CBT). My objective is to bring about
a shift in awareness, which will lead the parties, in
any dispute, towards a framework of understanding and
conciliation.
-
Communication
Workshops & Retreats - Communication is at
the heart of all human relations, including those in
the workplace. I can help troubled departments and teams
increase their productivity by addressing communication
problems and by defining and improving communication
effectiveness. This training can be tailored to fit
your needs - large or small groups.
