My
adolescence was spent in Central Texas near Fort Hood. I
had a dear aunt that lived on a cotton farm in nearby Rosebud.
Aunt Margie lived on hundreds of acres of white fluffy fields
with cows, chickens, horses and bird dogs. It was through
her and her menagerie that I came to love country life.
It was through her that I learned that there is great strength
in the feminine. My aunt was royalty - she was Queen of
Southern Living. Not only could she cook the best food ever
and lovingly attend farm and animals, my Aunt Margie would
make you feel loved and special.
I
also traveled a lot during my early adulthood, finding myself
in unique places like Thessalonica, Greece, Amman, Jordan
and Istanbul. I do have wanderlust, a common affliction
in military children. I now live in North Texas with a beautiful
family of my own to share the journey with.
I
went back to school after a 19-year career in information
technology. I went back to study counseling and psychology
- exploring the human heart that has its own architecture,
art, music, cedars and spirit.
I
enjoy reading, art, sailing, and meditation. These take
me to wonderful places too.
Like
most people, I don't enjoy being posed for picture taking.
I was torn between including a photo or a self-portrait.
I am including both.
